Tunisia – Tunisian lawyer files complaint against ICC prosecutor general

Adnan Limam, the attorney at the Court of Cassation, reported today, Tuesday, the filing of a complaint with the Tunisian justice system against the Prosecutor General of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, who “has done nothing concerning the crimes of genocide” happening in the Gaza Strip.

Limam added, during a press conference held at the SNJT headquarters, that this complaint is based on chapter 15 of the Rome agreement, which allows the public prosecutor at the ICC to open an investigation into genocide files.

Lawyer Adnan Limam filed the complaint on behalf of the Children’s Rights Association, civil activist Aida Bin Chaaban, reporter Moufida Abbasi and the Hanoun Society for Strategic Studies.

He revealed that the complaint was filed with the Tunisian justice system to disclose the crimes which impacted children and women and which cost the lives of tens of thousands of martyrs because the entry of medications was stopped then that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court was witness to all this and was content with orphan statements in the media.

He pointed out that the International Criminal Court had acted in other cases less criminal than the reality of the genocide in the Gaza Strip, such as that of Ukraine. He called on the Tunisian justice system to open an inquiry as soon as possible, to put pressure on the International Criminal Court, which stays silent in the face of the most heinous humanitarian crimes of the 21st century.

The press conference took place in the presence of the president of the Journalists’ Union, Ziad Dabbar, the Palestinian ambassador to Tunisia, Hayel Al-Fahoum, and the president of the Tunisian Association for the Rights of the Child, Moez Al-Sherif.
