Tunisia-UGET boycotts new academic term

The General Union of Students of Tunisia (UGET) declared Monday, January 25, 2021, the boycott of the new the academic term programmed for today in order to command the discharge of the students captured recently during the protest movements.

In a press release, the UGT called for the denunciation of all perpetrators of violence against students who demonstrated in recent days and for delaying the start of the academic year in the inadequacy of minimum preventive measures against the coronavirus.

The UGET additionally reiterated its adhesion and support to all the protest movements seen in the different regions of the country to confront the policies of marginalization and impoverishment reaffirming its commitment to defend the people and fight against the ‘oppression.
