Deputy spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned yesterday Tuesday, August 1st, “the expulsion” of sub-Saharan migrants from Tunisia to the Libyan and Algerian borders.
“We are profoundly concerned about the deportation of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers from Tunisia to the borders with Libya, and also with Algeria. All migrants, refugees and asylum seekers must be protected and treated with dignity, fully respecting their human rights, regardless of their status, in accordance with international law,” said Farhan Haq.
