Tunisia-US aid to Ben Guerdane and Remada hospitals

The Health Ministry, on Friday, acquired the last batch of US medical assistance, part of the programme to back Tunisia in the battle against the coronavirus.

Deputy Chief of Mission at US embassy in Tunis Gregory D. LoGerfo said the United States is giving this aid under the last phase of the support programme for Tunisia in the fight against the coronavirus, whose value is assessed at 36 million dollars.

The aid, which consists of protective equipment for medics and paramedics, is reserved for hospitals in Ben Guerdane, Medenine Governorate, and Remada, Tataouine Governorate, he stated.

Hospitals in Tabarka, Kef and Kairouan had received related aid under the first batch of this support programme funded by the US Department of Defence. The implementation of the programme displays the development in the level of cooperation between the two countries, LoGerfo added.
