Tunisia-[Video]Sfax-Cereals Office: 2 cargo ships loaded with wheat and flour blocked at the port

Adel Marzouk, the secretary-general of the base union of the Cereals Office in Sfax, expressed that two ships loaded with wheat and flour are still docked in Sfax.

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, he said that the two ships that arrived on the coast of Kerkennah have not yet been allowed to enter the port pending the finalization of procedures. The first ship is packed with 27,000 tons of wheat (docked in port for more than a week), and the second ship is loaded with 25,000 tons of flour (docked two days ago).

He added that a delay in unloading will be registered in the forthcoming days since the agents of the Tunisian stevedoring and handling company (STAM) started a 5-day strike yesterday. The speaker pointed out that each delay in the unloading process costs the State heavy losses, calling on the President of the Republic to interfere and find a solution to this problem.
