U.S-House passes spending bill to avoid govt shutdown

The United States House of Representatives passed a stopgap funding bill in an effort to avoid a government shutdown.

The bill was approved with a 272-162 margin in order to keep federal agencies funded through March 31, giving lawmakers more time to reach an agreement on a long-term spending bill.
