U.S-Pentagon shooter eliminated, lockdown lifted

Pentagon Force Protection Agency official reported that the active shooter in the vicinity of the Pentagon building of the United States Defense Department was eliminated on Tuesday following his violent attack.

There are no further suspects in the crime and the scene is now secure. The Pentagon has raised the lockdown and reopened traffic. Nevertheless, public transportation is diverted to the next closest metro station.

Early media reports suggested that the shooting incident caused multiple casualties, while the local Arlingon emergency department said it had encountered several patients at the scene, including an injured police officer.
