The number of people who have died with coronavirus in UK hospitals, care homes and the wider community surged to 28,446 after 315 died in the past 24 hours.
Britain is bordering closer to becoming the worst affected in Europe, with the coronavirus-hit Italy’s death toll currently sitting at 28,710.
