Ukraine-Russian terror blows across Europe, spectacular advances: Western troops on the ground…

By:

A historic conference for historic announcements. What the Ukrainians have been screaming for 2 years and what the Europeans did not want to hear, what they did not want to see is there before their eyes: The urgency of enormous and rapid military support to send Russia back behind its borders and so that it remains there permanently. “We are persuaded that the defeat of Russia is vital for security and stability in Europe,” announced the French head of state, Emmanuel Macron, at the end of a Conference in support of Ukraine that it organized in Paris yesterday Monday, February 26. Better late than never they say…

Impressive on paper

It remains to be seen whether the Europeans will do everything they have to do, everything they have sworn and, above all, whether all this will be enough to prevent the Russian ogre. In any case on paper, Macron did not go with the back of the spoon: A new coalition to actively support Ukraine, which until now the Europeans have not accomplished in a coordinated manner. “We are indeed determined to do whatever is required, for as long as necessary and this is for me the crucial point of this evening (…). There was a broad consensus to do even more together and faster,” Macron declared in front of the cameras. How?

This will implicate 5 “action categories”, which are unanimously agreed upon: a cyber-defensive axis; the co-production of arms, military capabilities and munitions in Ukraine; the defence of countries directly menaced by the invasion of Ukraine such as Moldova; the “ability to support Ukraine on its border with Belarus with non-military forces” and mine clearance operations.

It’s not over: “We have eight capacities coalitions that exist”, and a “ninth” will be set in place, added the French president. It will concentrate on “deep strikes, for medium and long-range missiles and bombs (…). We are going to organize this coalition from this evening,” revealed the French head of state, with a deep expression, a seriousness of circumstance.

Then came the highlight of the evening, which the Ukrainians were not anticipating and which, moreover, they are not requesting – what they desire are modern weapons and in quantity: Macron solemnly announced that sending troops to Western countries in the future is not “excluded”, while acknowledging that “there is no consensus today to send ground troops in an official, assumed and endorsed manner (…). I did not say that France was not in favour. It was mentioned among the options.”

“We will do whatever it takes to guarantee that Russia cannot win this war (…). Many people who say “Never, never” today were the same people who said “Never tanks, never planes, never long-range missiles” two years ago (…). Let us have the humility to remark that we have often been six to twelve months late. This was the purpose of this evening’s discussion: everything is possible if it is useful to achieve our objective,” Macron asserted.

kyiv has been saying it for 2 years, Biden has repeated it, and Macron finally sees it

What we read here is the terror that Putin inspires in Europeans. American President Joe Biden said that if we let the master of the Kremlin devour Ukraine it will whet his appetite and he will pounce on other things. Obviously Macron is finally starting to believe what Kyiv has been hammering home for 2 years…

Europe has long thought that it could outsource the Russian problem to the USA while the war is taking place in Europe. But now, American military aid, taken hostage by the Republicans in Congress for political negotiations – blackmail is the right word -, could stop dead if Donald Trump come back to the White House in 2024. The Europeans may -be forced, brutally, to take responsibility.

France, Germany and the company have long believed that they could tame Putin by caressing him in the right direction. They turned a blind eye to his bloody raids into Georgia, Chechnya, Syria and even when he annexed Crimea in 2014. More alarming: 3 years later Macron rolls out the red carpet for him at the Palace of Versailles, as if he did not have done anything…

He even went to see him in Moscow on February 7, 2022, a trip of which he had very bad memories. And even after the invasion of Ukraine, on February 24 of the same year, the French president continued to maintain this weird “friendship”, by telephoning Putin regularly. He even whispered in the ear of the Ukrainian president that peace was worth a definitive transfer of the annexed regions. All that is over, the awakening of Europeans is painful.
