The number of coronavirus deaths in the United States grew by 1,588 during the last 24 hours, data compiled by Johns Hopkins University revealed on Friday.
The data showed that the US health authorities also registered 153,143 new infections with the virus during the same period, which brought the country’s case count to over 39.5 million.
