A United States F-16 fighter jet crashed off the coast of South Korea near Gunsan, approximately 274 kilometers south of Seoul on Wednesday, Yonhap News Agency reported, citing sources.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of Kunsan Air Base, which houses US Air Force operations with F-16 aircraft.
The pilot was ejected from the aircraft and was successfully rescued from the waters, but the details regarding the circumstances leading to the crash are yet to be disclosed, the report stated.
