The United States Department of State unveiled on Thursday a new set of sanctions against Russia, previously announced by President Joe Biden, which affected several individuals and entities allegedly linked to a “forcible transfer and deportation of Ukraine’s children.”
The department’s written notice stressed that some sanctions are of a financial nature while some refer to visa restrictions. The financial ones dictate that “all property and interests in property of the designated persons described above that are in the United States or in possession or control of US persons are blocked and must be reported to the Department of Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).”
