Vocational training: 25,837 places, four annual sessions and six new specializations

Tunisia’s new vocational training year begins on Thursday, September 17, 2026, across centers operating under the Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training, with a new system based on four training sessions per year.

The overall intake capacity is estimated at nearly 26,000 training places, including around 6,000 reserved for holders of the baccalaureate diploma.

25,837 places scheduled for September and November

The Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training has allocated 25,837 places for the September and November 2026 sessions, covering 259 active specializations.

By comparison, 23,750 places were offered during the September 2025 session. This represents an increase of nearly 9%.

Four sessions a year instead of two

One of the main changes for the 2026-2027 training year is the shift from two to four vocational training sessions annually.

Under the new schedule, sessions will take place in September and November 2026, followed by February and April 2027.

The new system is intended to broaden access to vocational training opportunities throughout the year.

Around 6,000 places for baccalaureate holders

Of the overall intake capacity, around 6,000 places are intended for baccalaureate holders.

The move is part of efforts to expand the training offer and diversify the pathways available to young people wishing to pursue professional and technical qualifications.

Six new specializations introduced

The Tunisian Agency for Vocational Training has also announced the introduction of six new specializations for the first time within its training system.

They include:

Life support assistant, at the professional technician level;
Higher technician in communication technologies, multimedia option;
Higher technician programmer in web and mobile technologies;
Higher technician in interior decoration;
Higher technician in solar systems installation;
Bakery and pastry worker.

Measures targeting infrastructure and training conditions

The 2026-2027 training year also includes a series of measures aimed at developing infrastructure, upgrading training center equipment and improving accommodation and catering conditions.

The agency also plans to further expand its training offer and introduce additional specializations, with the aim of progressively adapting vocational pathways to the needs of different sectors of the economy.
