WTA 500 Stuttgart: one more defeat for Ons Jabeur, beaten by Paolini

Ons Jabeur was defeated by  Italian Jasmine Paolini in two sets (7-6 [10-8] and 6-4) in 1h46′, this Thursday in the 2nd round of the WTA 500 in Stuttgart.

After having a series of defeats on hard court at the beginning of the year (five defeats in 7 matches), this is a new defeat for the world No. 9 who did not reach the second round in Charleston by losing against the American Danielle Collins.

This failure is especially bitter for the world No. 9 to the extent that she could have closed the case in two rounds, and found the Kazakh Elena Rybakina (killer of Kudermatova – video), for a quarter-final remake of the Wimbledon final in July 2023, won by the Tunisian.

Certainly, she must react as quickly as possible in Rome, to “protect” her place in the top 10.
