A Let L-410 Turbolet aircraft carrying 20 people aboard crashed in the area of Russia’s city of Menzelinsk, the Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed on Sunday.

The ministry said that 16 parachute jumpers died in the accident that took place in the Tatarstan region earlier this morning.
