A 5.8 magnitude earthquake was reported in the proximity of Peru’s capital, Lima, according to data presented by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The epicentre of the quake was 10km west-south-west of the country’s Canete province, the data showed, adding that the tremor originated at the depth of 50.6km.
According to the local media, no injuries or damages have been reported so far, but the first responders have been dispatched across the capital.
