Professor Mohamed Taher Khalfallah, head of general surgery at the Mongi Slim hospital in La Marsa died on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
Professor Khalfallah was a pioneer in liver transplantation which was performed in Tunisia in 1998. He has performed more than 70 transplant operations since then.
