Palestine imposes lockdown in effort to stop COVID-19 pandemic

In an effort to stop the quickly rising numbers of coronavirus cases in the West Bank, several governors opted to impose lockdown on areas infected with the disease, the state news agency reported

After Hebron governor Jibrin al-Bakri announced this morning a five-day lockdown on the entire governorate, which includes the largest city in the West Bank, Hebron, starting tonight, governor of Nablus, Ibrahim Ramadan, also declared today a five-day lockdown on the governorate starting tonight.

Hebron governorate has become the new epicentre of the disease in Palestine with over 1700 cases, all in the last two weeks, followed by Nablus with 140 cases.
