A special commemoration ceremony was held in the UN General Assembly to honour the memory of late president Beji Caid Essebsi. The ceremony commenced with a moment of silence by the UN council members.

The outpouring of grief in Tunisia and beyond is a testament to the critical role he played in shaping his country’s history since independence, and particularly over recent years”.
