Tunisia-Chawki Tabib: Women less corrupt than men

The National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC), President Chawki Tabib said Thursday, August 13, 2020, that Tunisian women have taken the lead in important and vital sectors, such as health, education, justice and the legal sector, as well as at the level of political decisions, the ministries within the government.

Tabib stressed that the INLUCC calls for supporting this role because “it has been revealed that women … are less corrupt than men, and this indicator needs to be valued and harnessed.”

On the sidelines of her participation in the celebration of National Women’s Day, organized by the regional office of INLUCC and the regional office of the Tunisian Women’s Union in Sousse, Tabib continued, that the percentage of women reported suspected corruption amounted to only 3%, considering it a low percentage.

On the other hand, he indicated that women do not report corruption and that around 11% of those who do report corruption are women, considering that this is a low number that needs to change.
