Tunisia-Unemployed doctors: “No question of marginalizing the elite,” insists Mechichi

Unemployed doctors and doctoral students have been conducting a fierce fight for many months to demand their right to work. Yesterday Wednesday, December 9, it was for the first time that prime minister Hichem Mechichi received a delegation representing them.

Mr Mechichi emphasised that the working session is barely the beginning of a series of meetings to uncover resolutions fitted of answering to the demands of unemployed doctors.

“There is no question of marginalizing the elite of society,” he commanded, calling for the knowledge and skill of these graduates to be highlighted. He continued, “This is a category that can present its own views and theories to help the country.”

For his part, the secretary-general of the UGTT, Noureddine Taboubi, reflected that this interview forms an opportunity to expose the problems of unemployed doctors and doctoral students.
