Abbas describes US vetoing a G-a-z-a ceasefire as aggressive and unethical

President Mahmoud Abbas has expressed vehement condemnation of the United States’ use of its veto power in the United Nations Security Council to block the passing of a resolution mandating Israel to cease its aggression against the Gaza Strip, describing the move as “aggressive and unethical”, Wafa news agency reported.

President Abbas deemed the US stance as aggressive and unethical, describing it as a “blatant violation of all humanitarian values and principles.” He held the United States responsible “for the bloodshed of Palestinian children, women, and elderly in Gaza at the hands of Israeli occupation forces.”

The President attributed the move taken by the US in the UN Security Council to its “shameful policy supporting the [Israeli] occupation and Israel’s brutal aggression against the Palestinian people.” He emphasized that the State of Palestine will take a firm stance in response to the development.

“This US policy makes it complicit in the crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem,” said the President. He warned that “this policy has become a danger to the world, posing a threat to international peace and security.”
