During the match counting for Group E, between Mali and South Africa, two of its players were not in great shape for this crucial match. Substituted in the 58th minute, Malian Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma Toulouse FC defender Moussa Diarra is said to be suffering from Malaria.
These two players were already infected with the malaria virus before the beginning of this AFCON and this was confirmed by Éric Sékou Chelle, coach of the Eagles of Mali: “Yves Bissouma and Moussa Diarra suffer from malaria…”.
According to several Malian media, this duo should return in better shape during the second day of Group E, against Tunisia.
