“Algeria will stand by Tunisia and will not allow its collapse” Abdelmajid Tebboune

“Algeria is willing to play a role in Tunisia’s national dialogue yet without siding with any party,” Algerian President Abdelmajid Tebboune told Al Jazeera in an interview on Thursday.

“Algeria is seeking to reunite factions in Tunisia,” he added.

Tebboune reiterated that Algeria refuses to interfere in Tunisia’s internal affairs, adding that his country “is keen to support Tunisia as a State and people and will not allow its collapse.”

On the other hand, he underlined that some of the international pressures on Tunisia are “far from innocent”. They are meant to “destabilize the country,” he pointed out.
