Blinken interrupted by protesters demanding ceasefire

Demonstrators protested against US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Tuesday during a Senate committee to demand aid for Ukraine and Israel.

Blinken and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin attended a Senate committee hearing to examine a $106 billion aid request for Ukraine and Israel.

Protesters repeatedly interrupted Blinken’s speech by shouting several slogans.

Protesters also held banners with phrases such as “Abandon all support for genocide against the people of Gaza,” “Stop the massacres in Gaza,” “Save the children of Gaza,” and “Ceasefire now.”

After a group of protesters were removed from the hall by Congressional police, Blinken continued his speech.

Nevertheless, another group of protesters raised their hands in the air, painted red, referring to “bloodstained hands.”
