The Italian head of government Giuseppe Conte is due to unveil details of a national nighttime curfew and travel restrictions to regions now classified according to their health risk on Monday evening, as he judges that “the situation is serious” in Italy.
Italy also plans to introduce several other measures at the national level: more distance learning, a maximum capacity reduced to 50% in public transport, the closure of shopping centres on weekends, the closure of museums and exhibitions, as well as that the ban on video games in bars and tobacco shops.
Italy recorded nearly 30,000 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday in twenty-four hours.
