FIFA Series: in absence of Tunisia, Algeria and 6 African selections competing for 1st edition

To additionally energize world football, FIFA revealed the launch of the FIFA Series, its new initiative permitting its member associations to organize and participate in intercontinental friendly matches.

Planned from March 18 to 26, 2024 and divided into 5 tournaments, this pilot stage is part of the 2023-2027 strategic goals of the football governing body, promising to open new horizons in the technical and commercial development of football.

In the absence of Tunisia, 7 African selections namely Algeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea and the Central African Republic will be there, ready to do action on the international scene.

As indicated by FIFA, Algeria (Algiers and Annaba), Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Sri Lanka will be the host countries for the games in the pilot phase of the FIFA Series, according to the following schedule:
