French Government spokesperson Olivier Veran stated on Wednesday that France condemns the coup attempt in Gabon.
“France condemns the military coup that is taking place in Gabon and is following the situation with great attention,” he said at a press briefing after a meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Veran remarked that France recognizes the results of legitimate presidential elections in the country and urges that “the results of the elections … be respected.”
