France sees near-record 65,713 COVID-19 cases

The French Health Ministry reported on Wednesday the country recorded 65,713 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, with the seven-day average surpassing 50,000 to reach the highest figure since November last year.

This is the second-highest daily count since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, as the country saw record 83,000 cases in early November of 2020 during the first mass outbreak.
