The number of people who tested positive for the coronavirus in India surpassed 8 million after rising by 49,881 on Thursday, the country’s Health and Family Welfare Ministry announced.
During the past 24 hours, Indian health officials reported 517 deaths attributed to COVID-19, which brought the country’s death toll to 120,527.
