The figure for deaths caused by COVID-19 recorded daily in India reached its new record of 3,293 on Wednesday, taking the total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic to 201,187.
Meanwhile, the toll of infections registered in the period of 24 hours also climbed to a new record-high of 360,960. The new addition brought the number of people that contracted the disease since its outbreak in India to 17,997,267.
