IOM: At least 30,000 people displaced in Derna by Storm Daniel

IOM Libya reported that at least 30,000 people were displaced in Derna due to Storm Daniel, including 3,000 in Albayda, 1,000 in Almkheley and 2,085 people still displaced in Benghazi. The number of casualties is currently unverified.

Derna is the place most impacted by Storm Daniel, which caused the dams to burst and the water to rise and sweep away large areas of the city, generating extensive human and material damage. Several sources put forward figures of 10,000 missing and more than 5,000 dead.
