Italy recorded 4,458 more cases of coronavirus on Thursday, scoring a new record since early April when the country was under severe lockdown.
According to the new Health Ministry data, the number of total infections increased to 338,398 as Italy performed a record 128,098 swab tests.
The country further reported 22 more deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the overall tally to 36,083.
