Starting today, tourists will be allowed to travel to Italy without the compulsory self-isolation period, with the exception of visitors that tested positive for COVID-19.
The decision to lift the travel ban and abandon restrictions was announced last month when Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte called it a “calculated risk”. As a part of the plan to reinvigorate the economic activity, bars, restaurants and gyms in Italy were opened in May, with theatres and cinemas set to reopen later in June.
