French President Emmanuel Macron told France’s TF1 and France 2 on Sunday that Paris will withdraw its troops from Niger by the end of the year, as well as recall its ambassador and embassy staff from the country.
He said France decided to “end its military cooperation with Niger” back in July when a military junta captured democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum and took control of the country.
