Nabil Ammar holds talks with the secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

On the occasion of his participation in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the thirty-second session of the Arab Summit, Nabil Ammar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Tunisians Abroad, held a conversation on May 17, 2023, with Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, which dealt with the existing cooperation relations between Tunisia and this organization.

The minister stressed Tunisia’s continuous keenness to actively contribute to strengthening the joint Islamic action, and upgrading its role in light of the growing challenges regionally and internationally.

He praised the Tunisian competencies working in this organization, stressing the importance of further strengthening the Tunisian presence in its structures and institutions.

From his side, the Secretary-General renewed the organization’s support for Tunisia in its challenges, stressing the need to benefit from tunisian expertise in many sectors and transfer it to a number of brotherly countries, especially in the fields of health, education and professional training.

 Hussein Ibrahim Taha highlighted Tunisia’s firm positions on a number of issues, at the forefront of which is the Palestinian issue.

 The latest developments in the region and the importance of finding political solutions to various crises in the Islamic space were also discussed.
