Pakistan blast death toll rises to 28

At least 28 people were killed and 150 wounded in an explosion that occurred in a mosque in Peshawar in Pakistan, the city’s police department head Ijaz Khan told the media on Monday.

Khan said that the majority of the victims were worshipers going to noon prayers. Additionally, he noted the target of the explosion was likely the police station nearby, which also houses a counter-terrorism department.
