Pakistan’s anti-terrorism court convicted former president Pervez Musharraf to death on charges of high treason and overthrowing the constitution, a senior government official stated.
“Pervez Musharraf has been found guilty of Article 6 for violation of the constitution of Pakistan,” government law officer Salman Nadeem said. Musharraf has been on trial for high treason for forcing a state of emergency in 2007.
Musharraf has been residing in Dubai and London since 2016 after he was permitted to travel on medical grounds. He never went back notwithstanding court orders and was also earlier put on the list of most wanted people.
