Indeed, photos taken this morning show an open dump located between Charles Nicole Hospital and the Ophthalmology Institute. Most shocking is that the trash was piled up a few steps from the Ministry of Health.
The environmental crisis worsens in deafening silence In addition to the negative outcomes that could happen, the problem of accumulated garbage is probably to worsen due to the heavy rains predicted during this cold season. Located near Charles Nicole Hospital, the garbage that plagues the area has welcomed patients. A place that is supposed to deliver health care to patients “in the best conditions”
Several activists had already screamed that the environmental crisis in Sfax could knock at any time on the door of neighbouring areas and even reach the city of Tunis, officials interfered very quickly in the stands to decide and deny this information.
The ministry turns a blind eye to a landfill just steps from its headquarters … Who is to blame?
Like the Ministry of the Environment, which does not appear to have “immediate solutions” for the environmental disaster, it is worth examining the role played by the Ministry of Health, which is largely accountable for citizens’ health. With the garbage piled up a few feet from its location threatening citizens with every conceivable disease imaginable, many people are presumably to question the health ministry’s ability to handle the crisis.
