As part of its price observatory, Tunisie Numérique crew carries out weekly monitoring of the costs of consumer products for Tunisian households.
Prices are taken straight from the public media of a major distribution brand and exclude promotions.
The prices involve national brand products.
The evolution of prices makes it possible to characterize the effective inflation for each product.
Today, focus on a Milk Chocolate bar 90 gram a common consumer product. We see a substantial price increase:
- 11/21/2023: 3.080 TND
- 10/01/2024: 3.200 TND
This increase represents inflation of 4, or 0.120 TND more in less than two months.
It should be remembered that, according to the INS, the average inflation rate for the year 2023 stands at 9.3%.
