Search operations carried out by the National Guard and the Border Guard for the migrants who went missing in the Sea of Kerkennah is still underway, Tunisie Numérique correspondent in Sfax reported last Wednesday.
On the sidelines of these operations, a dead body floating on the surface of water was spotted, the same source said.
Last Tuesday, a fisherman from Kerkennah contacted the National Guard after rescuing four Tunisian migrants from Kairouan, Sfax and Sidi Bouzid. They said they lost contact with the 15 other migrants who were in the same boat with them.
