Russia reported on 16,550 new cases of the coronavirus over the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 1,547,774 infections since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year.
Meanwhile, 26,589 died from the virus in Russia as 320 new deaths were recorded.
