Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Abdelmajid Ezzar revealed that olive oil and dates are among the major agricultural products in Tunisia. They are strategic export products for the nation.
Ezzar, on the other hand, criticised that Tunisia does not take advantage of the quality of the said product to boost its price internationally.
He also denounced the fact that Tunisian olive oil is marketed at a lower price (2 euros) than that of Italian olive oil (4.5 euros). Abdelmajid Ezzar stipulated that the income from exports of dates and olive oil could also surpass 3,600 million dinars, revealing in the same direction that the State is attempting to recover this amount of money by the 2022 finance law . The agricultural sector is a solution to the current economic crisis, according to Abdelmajid Ezzar.
