A certain number of residents of the Ain Draham delegation voiced, today, Sunday, January 14, 2024, their ordeal regarding the shortage registered in domestic gas and blue oil cylinders and the absence of firewood used in chimneys, particularly with the increasing cold snap which has been described as “severe” and its repercussions on their health.
According to TAP journalists, locals argue that the provided quantities are insufficient, considering that the region has more than 40,000 inhabitants. The average consumption of families surpasses one bottle in three days, averaging 10 bottles per month throughout December, January, and February. Residents are also encountering challenges related to the high costs of selling, transporting, and cutting firewood, which have further worsened the situation.
