Tunisia-Tunisian professor Adel Bouhoula achieves major cybersecurity innovation in Bahrain

The Arab Gulf University has made significant progress in cybersecurity, marked by receiving a patent in the network security and data protection sector. This patent, filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), addresses creating the next generation of networking devices for grown security and optimized efficiency.

Professor Adel Bouhoula, a well-known Tunisian researcher and main inventor of this advance, played a critical role in this accomplishment. With more than thirty years of experience in academic, research and administrative fields in several prestigious international institutions, Professor Bouhoula has contributed greatly to the field of cybersecurity.

This new patent is the first of its kind in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cybersecurity. It represents a significant step in innovation and scientific research efforts and is part of the Arab Gulf University’s strategy to promote scientific research and academic excellence. This invention is also aligned with the strategies of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries that sought to achieve regional economic and social growth goals in the third millennium.

Professor Bouhoula stressed that current network devices, such as routers and firewalls, face many challenges, particularly in terms of vulnerabilities and the increasing complexity of cyber security threats. His invention aims to solve these issues by offering a more secure and efficient solution.
