Tunisia: An European Parliament delegation to visit Tunisia next week

The European Union Delegation to Tunisia declared that members of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee led by Michael Galler will visit Tunisia next week to “consult on the way of Tunisia towards political reforms and a return to institutional stability”. ”

A statement from the mission issued specifies that the visit will spread from April 11 to 13, 2022, during which the parliamentary delegation will encounter the President of the Republic, Kais Saied and representatives of the government, political parties and the civil society, to “examine how the European Union continues to support Tunisia in the process of political reform and the strengthening of democracy”.

The same source also reveals that the delegation will pay particular attention to the economic situation in Tunisia and to the most suitable way in which the European Union can support the Tunisian authorities in the execution of economic reforms for the benefit of all Tunisians in the light of the economic and food security crisis, the global pandemic and the repercussions of the battle in Ukraine.
