Tunisia-Anas Hmaidi: Magistrates on hunger strike hospitalized

The Association of Tunisian Magistrates (AMT) held a press conference in Tunis, to shed light on the hunger strike which was begun a month ago by three judges. The involved judges according to Anas Hmaidi, president of the AMT are  Mohamed Taher Kanzari, who has been on strike since June 22, Kais Sbayhi and Ahmed Laâbidi who have been on strike since July 5.
 
These magistrates, according to him, had been dismissed by the President of the Republic and had decided to initiate this action to challenge the decision.
 
As a reminder, the Head of State had dismissed 57 magistrates by decree on June 1, 2022. Coordination had been created by the AMT, the Union of Tunisian Magistrates (SMT), the Union of Magistrates of the Court of Accounts (UMCC), the Association of Tunisian Magistrates, the Union of Administrative Magistrates (UMA) and the Tunisian Association of Young Magistrates (ATJM).
