As the first stage of the targeted lockdown is set to begin on May 4, the National Agency for Computer Security (ANSI) issued a warning for computer security measures to ensured in a progressive resumption under the most favourable conditions during the deconfinement period.
The implementation of these measures issues in the wake of the rise in waves of cyberattacks (Phishing, Ransomware, DDoS) that have been reported during the period of lockdown.
The ANSI asked for the fulfilment of updates to computer servers that were paused and could not be operated remotely and for a technical security audit of critical servers and desktops particularly those that were remotely accessible.
For example, before networking computers that have been used remotely, ANSI emphasised the importance of securing that antivirus and operating system updates were installed, and that data processed remotely (on multiple computers, some of which are personal computers) were retrieved and backed up.
For those who continue to work remotely, they are called upon to assess the robustness and strengthen the authentication mechanisms used.
Lastly, ANSI suggests that event logs be checked and analyzed for signs of intrusions or attacks
