Speaking on the sidelines of a press conference today, Ennahdha member Mohamed Goumani voiced concern over Noureddine Bhiri’s state of health. Calling the detention of the former justice minister a “crime,” Goumani indicated that the practices were carried out during the Ben Ali era. Goumani called for the location of Bhiri to be divulged, calling, in a similar vein, for his release.
The speaker revealed that the detention is intended to scare opponents of Kais Saied and distract public opinion from the Head of State’s failure to overcome the country’s financial and socio-economic crisis. He pointed out that Saied has attempted to implement his political project since July 25.
The politician also called on the military and security forces to stay away from political tensions.
