Tunisia-Arrest of the magistrate involved in the currency trafficking case

An informed judicial source declared that the Public Prosecutor’s Office ordered the agents of the Central Directorate of the National Guard in Aouina to arrest Judge Ikram Mokded for a renewable period of 5 days, within the meaning of the articles of the Law relating to the fight against terrorism and money laundering.

 

The case goes back to Tuesday, August 10, when the Monastir Governorate Customs Guard captured the aforementioned judge in possession of around 450,000 euros.

 

The arrest took place in relationship with the dismantling of a foreign currency smuggling network operating between the centre-east and the southern borders of Tunisia.
